The Space

Do you like things that are shiny and new? Then this apartment is for you – especially if you like to work and play downtown, are a young urban professional or a visiting business executive, and you want a place that’s move-in ready, and live-in ready too.

This is a beautifully decorated studio apartment on the 7th floor of Framework – a contemporary mid-rise which opened November 2016 within walking distance to downtown, historic Gastown, and on the edge of Chinatown

The bright open-concept 490 ft2 layout has been professionally decorated with modern furnishings, gorgeous finished cement floors throughout, and is fully-stocked with every household essential – all you need to do is buy groceries!

The living room has wide screen TV and a pullout queen sofabed that sleeps two weekend guests. The kitchen has polished quartz countertops, all-new stainless steel appliances including a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, stove, blender, coffee maker, and all the utensils, pots, and pans to cook your own meals, plus a moveable kitchen island for food prep and dining.

There’s a comfy queen-sized murphy bed you can easily flip into the wall to create more space for parties, yoga or exercising. And there’s quality linens, cozy duvets, pillows and blankets, plus cupboards and a closet for storage.

The bathroom has a walk in shower, hair dryer, towels, and even a first aid kit and toolkit.

You'll have your own washer/dryer and there's an iron, ironing board, and vacuum.

There’s a small outdoor patio, with table and chairs, that has a great night time view of Vancouver’s Harbour Centre and a fabulous panoramic view of the mountains during the day.

There’s even a bike storage unit on your floor, and a larger storage unit in the parkade. And Framework’s lobby is absolutely stunning with bright décor and trendy colourful glazing.

The Neighbourhood

Our home is situated 1/2 block from Main Street, on the edge of Chinatown, just a few blocks from the historic and touristy Gastown, and an easy walk to downtown. The area is undergoing a massive revitalization so it offers all the conveniences of modern urban living in a charming east-side community that’s steeped in old world history.

There is TONS of great and unique shopping within a short distance – from downtown, to gastown, and even right across the street!

There are TONS of great restaurants, tapas bars, gatropubs and trendy bars within walking distance – in Chinatown, Gastown, and downtown. Try Phnom Penh on East Georgia for Cambodian/Vietnamese food, Pacific Poke for Japanese/Hawaiian on Main Street, the Mackenzie Room on Powell Street, The Union on Union Street for Asian Fusion or the more upscale, popular and pricey Juniper on Keefer. Kissa Tanto, a nearby Japanese/Italian fusion restaurant, was voted the best new restaurant in Canada by Enroute magazine. And of course, being so close to the heart of Chinatown means there are lots of authentic Asian restaurants and bakeries within a 10 minute walk. If you need your java in the morning there’s a Starbucks 1½ blocks away, and Propaganda Coffee Shop right next door.

A gymn and movie theaters are within walking distance and tennis courts and soccer pitches are closeby. You’re within walking distance to Science World and the False Creek waterfront where you can watch Dragon Boat racing in the summer. You’re also a short drive to the popular Commercial Avenue which is a hotspot for young, hip urbanites.

Getting Around

There are bus stops within a 3 minute walk that will take you to downtown. The Main Street SkyTrain station is just a 12 minute walk — and once you’re on SkyTrain you can travel across Vancouver, to Richmond and the airport, to Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam and New Westminster. Vancouver has a great transit system! The Georgia Viaduct is a few blocks away for easy commuting too.

There is no assigned parking with the suite, but there is a pay parking lot at the end of block.Vancouver has a great bike sharing system called Mobi, and there are two bike sharing stations within a few blocks.

If you like to walk – then you’re in paradise – there are lots of historic walks to take in the area.

Guest Access

The building uses a digital fob for entry and the apartment has a set of keys.

Other Things to Note

The building is a cement structure so it’s very, very quiet. And because it’s situated on the edge of Chinatown, close to the family-friendly area of Strathcona, the street is very quiet in the evening and at night too with lots of metered street parking.

Heat and water are all included. 

There is no assigned parking, but there is a pay parking lot on the corner of the block. Why not join Modo, CarToGo, or Zipcar – Vancouver’s car sharing options. 

Although the building is pet-friendly, we don’t allow pets in this suite.
