The Space

This spacious bright 2 bedroom condo in the heart of Kitsilano has a view of the ocean and mountains, is newly renovated and is professionally decorated. Walk out your door to trendy West 4th where you will find many coffee shops, clothing, outdoor, retail, and grocery stores, along with many casual and fine dining restaurants, and even spas.

The living room has a 50” internet-enabled Smart TV with Netflix, Wifi, a pullout queen sofabed, laptop desk. We have a Sony music player that connects via bluetooth/wifi to your smartphone so you can play your own music.

Each of the two bedrooms have comfy Hilton-hotel-quality queen sized beds with hotel quality linens, cozy down duvets and both down-filled and polyfill pillows.

There are two bright bathrooms, one with a shower, one with a shower and bathtub. Both have radiant in-floor heating, hair dryers and towels.

The suite has 10 foot high ceilings, a long spacious entryway, and 1,150 square feet of space.

We know you'll want to eat-in during your stay so the kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to cook at home....pots, pans, toaster, plates, cutlery, rice bowls, rice cooker, blender, and even a kid-friendly plastic set of plates and cups. For your convenience there's an iron, ironing board, vacuum, and recycling bins, washer, dryer, and a starter supply of laundry and dishwasher detergent, garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels.

Our apartment uses charming radiators for heat, and there is no air conditioning, but both bedrooms have windows you can leave open, and we supply tower fans if the weather turns hot.

If you're staying with small children there is a portable play pen that can be used as crib, and a high chair/booster seat. However, the apartment is not childproof. 

Guest Access

The front and back doors have digital locks, so no keys are required to pick up or drop off. Just enter a 4-digit code we'll provide prior your check in to unlock the door. Our guests love this flexibility. Once inside the suite, you'll find a key to the building's front door.

Interaction with Guests

Come and go as you please and enjoy full privacy. You have the suite all to yourself. We do ask all our guests to be respectful of the other tenants that share the building. We work and live in the area, so can be there quickly if you need us, and in the rare case it's needed, our handyman can take care of any mishaps or problems.

The Neighbourhood

Our location really is fantastic - in the sought after neighbourhood of Kitsilano! Our neighbourhood even has its own app, ShopWest4th, which you might want to download from Google apps or Itunes before your arrival.

Walk out your door to trendy West 4th where you will find many coffee shops, clothing and outdoor retail, grocery stores, along with many casual and fine dining restaurants. Try out a local favourite Sophie's Cosmic Cafe open 8:00am-8:00pm.

We're centrally located and close to downtown. You can walk to the tourist mecca of Granville Island Market, and it's a short 10 minute drive or bus trip to downtown, Robson Street, English Bay, the University of British Columbia, and more.

Coming for the beach experience? If you want sandy beaches and to sunbathe, hang out with the younger crowd, swim laps in an outdoor pool or let the kids splash in a wading pool, or enjoy the playgound, then just walk 10 minutes/4 blocks down the hill to the famous Kits Beach, the home of the Celebration of Light fireworks competition every July and August, the Kitsilano Boatshow, and Bard on the Beach (Shakespeare in the Park). If you want to rent a sailboat, ocean kayak, paddleboard or skimboard…its just a short 10 minute drive to Jericho Beach. If you prefer volleyball, beach barbeques, long walks, jogging, or watching spectacular sunsets and dogs frolicking in the surf, then drive past Jericho and Locarno beaches to the famous Spanish Banks Beach.

Like shopping? You’re close to lots! From our door it’s literally a 10 second walk to the best part of trendy West 4th Avenue where you can shop for groceries at Whole Foods (for organics) or Safeway, for workout clothes at Lululemon, for outdoor gear at a number of shops, casual wear at Roots, buy a Vancouver keepsake at Oh My Gift, pick up something for the kids at Hip Baby or The Candy Aisle, relax at a spa, and much much more. We love walking to the world famous tourist mecca of Granville Island Market for our fresh produce and baked goods, artisan crafts or to take in live theater or eat at the Sandbar or Bridges restaurants. Or walk about 10 minutes to Broadway and McDonald where there's more interesting shops for old and young, markets and restaurants. Hop on the bus across the street and in about 10 minutes you’ll be downtown where you can shop the famous Robson Street, the Bay, Holt Renfrew, Pacific Centre, or Nordstroms. Or take the bus (or walk) to South Granville, another great place to shop and check out the art galleries.

Are you a foodie? There are TONS of great restaurants, ethnic eateries, organic cafes and even vegetarian diners within walking distance - on West 4th Avenue, Broadway, and Cornwall (along Kits Beach). For beach and sunset views eat at the Boathouse Restaurant on Kits Beach. A 3 minute walk will get you to your morning latte at Starbucks or Whole Foods. Brown's Social House and Roland's are both popular, or splurge and eat at the posh Bishops. A Beer, Wine, and Spirits shop is part of Biminis pub close by.

Getting Around

Relying on the bus? There are bus stops within a 30 second walk that will get you to a skytrain station, downtown, to shopping, or to the university. Vancouver has a great transit system with a skytrain that goes to Burnaby, Surrey, New Westminster and the airport. Why drive downtown when you can hop on a bus and get there in 10 minutes?

Want to bike? We suggest renting from Comfor two blocks away, and then biking to Stanley Park and around the seawall for a true Vancouver experience.

Have a car? There's a parking spot reserved for your suite in the back alley across street about a 1 minute walk west of building . Otherwise, it's street parking only in a neighbourhood that has side-street parking for non-residents.

Other Things to Note

We'll need a phone number of the guest booking to stay in contact with you during your stay (by email, phone, or text) and confirmation of how many guests will be staying, so we can leave enough starter supplies for you.

If our calendar is booked for the days you're interested in, or if you're travelling with a larger party than 6 people, we can recommend another apartment right next door, in the same building. It has a similar layout, also with 1,150 square feet of space, professionally decorated and sleeps 6...and the front doors are literally two steps from each other. It's a great alternative, or perfect for larger groups travelling together who what to stay close to each other, just not 24/7.

Great location. Well appointed apartment.

Clean, bright, spacious. Everything you need. Beautifully decorated. Close to everything especially beach at Kitsilano!

Great location and well presented apartment!

Sue is great host and very responsive. Both bedrooms are comfortable and the property is well equipped to be a Home away from home. For sensitive sleepers, the road noise can be an issue though... Location is great for the markets and walkable to many sights: Don't miss taking a stroll near by Point Grey water front to soak in Vancouver's beauty! And a stop at 'Top of Vancouver' revolving restaurant gives you a panoramic view. you are spoiled for choices with the many breakfast / brunch places literally around the corner! All of us enjoyed the delightful and famous Indian restaurant Vij for dinner. The Kitsllano farmers market on the Sunday was exceptional too. Not quite like living on the West end on the Vancouver island but I would consider this location again when coming with a small group to visit. The view is only from the living room window and a bit distant :)

Great Location and clean

This apartment was in a great location. Everything in the condo was crisp and clean. Perfect for three couples staying for a few days. The apple pie at Sophie's is HUGE and to die for. Be advised: Arbutus and 4th are very busy streets. Would not have been as much of an issue if it hadn't been so hot while we visited and we had to have the windows open. Would definitely come back.

Only bad thing the neighbors were noisy on the outside stairs. Enjoyed Granville Island and Stanley Park. If you are looking to eat oysters go to Fanny bay's--762 Cambie street Vancouver

Great alternative to downtown Vancouver or Yaletown

We had a pleasant stay in Sue's apartment which is as advertised - comfortable, spacious, well equipped and in a great location. Lots of good restaurants nearby and easy access to all shopping needs. It's a little noisy as 4th is a busy avenue, going late and starting early, but nothing compared to many downtown locations or Yaletown. Anyone looking for total peace and quiet should look further west and south into Kitsilano. We enjoyed being able to walk down to Kits beach in the evening to work off a few calories! I didn't particularly like the need to gain initial access to the apartment from the back alley. The various recycling, trash and green waste bins are a bit on the smelly side and the alley had its share of suspicious looking characters, but kudos to Sue for making sure there was a parking spot allocated nearby as that can be a problem for non-residents in this area. Overall quite satisfactory and a great alternative to downtown Vancouver.

The apartment was great! It was in a nice neighborhood within walking distance to a lot.

The property was on the second floor and perfect for four people. There is a sleeper sofa in the living area for extra people. It was very well supplied, nicely decorated, and clean. We did hear the people upstairs well into the wee hours on Saturday night so ear plugs would be suggested for light sleepers. We enjoyed staying and would love to come back!

Excellent stay in a beautiful apartment!

We are a family of 5 (3 kids) and we had ALL the space and more in this apartment. Everyone loved the amenities, cleanliness, comfort and location. Sue is a great host and was able to help us with many questions even before the trip. We could not have asked for a better accommodations and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful apartment in Kits!

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment. It is nice and close to many restaurants, shops and the beach! Clean and well stocked, our family of 5 were very comfortable for the duration of our stay. I would not hesitate to recommend it to friends, and book another stay.

Convenient Location!!!

We were visiting with our two grandchildren. (15 and 10) The apartment was spacious and very well supplied. They had everything you needed in the kitchen. We did not cook, too many restaurants close by. Close to beach and park. Walked to Granville Island to see the markets. About 40 minutes to Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge. 15 minutes to the Aquarium. The neighborhood was very nice, felt safe. In the evening it could get a little noisey, but calmed down by 11pm. We would definitely stay again if we came to Vancouver. Thank you so much for sharing your apartment with us.
