The Space

Our brand new modern, designer-decorated coach house is on a beautiful tree lined street in the heart of the Cambie Village area. Built in 2016, it's 700 square feet of comfortable living space that has a large screen Smart TV and free WiFi. Our home sleeps 6 people with a queen bed in the upstairs master bedroom, a double bed in the bedroom on the main floor and a deluxe queen sized pullout sofa bed in the living room. Our beds and linens are hotel quality for your comfort, and we supply extra pillows and blankets.

There are two bathrooms; one upstairs with a full bath/shower next to the master bedroom, and one on the main floor with a stand up shower. All bathrooms come with towels and hair dryer.

The kitchen boasts high quality appliances, including a dishwasher, and has all the amenities you need to cook at home. There's a washer/dryer, iron and ironing board too, and a kitchen/dining table that's expandable.

If you're staying with children there's a portable high chair/booster seat and a Pack and Play stored in the main floor bedroom closet.

We'll provide you with a starter supply of laundry and dishwasher detergent, toilet paper, paper towels and hand soap. There is no air conditioning, but we do supply tower fans if the summer is hot.

The Neighbourhood

Our home is wonderfully located on the coveted west side of Vancouver and close to transit and just a few block walk to Skytrain.

If you like to shop and eat out you'll be just a short 2 minute, 1 block walk to local stores, many ethnic eateries, funky watering holes, and unique boutique retail shops in the trendy area of Cambie Village. The closest grocery store, Choices, is just two blocks away. Safeway and Wholefoods (for the health conscious) are close by too.

If you walk 10 minutes east of Cambie Street you will find the funky area of Main Street. Main Street is an edgy, vibrant, up-and-coming neighbourhood with a delightful and eclectic mix of great eateries, hip cafes, late-night bistros, cool patio bars, and one-of-a-kind fashion boutiques. Voted by locals as Vancouver’s coolest street and best shopping district, the area is now recognized as one of the trendiest areas in Vancouver. You could spend a whole day just exploring Main Street.

If you want to catch a movie The Park movie theatre, a local neighbourhood favorite, is within walking distance.

Also within a short distance is Douglas Park, which includes a community centre, playground for children, wading pool, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds.

Located close by is Hillcrest Community centre, which was built for and hosted the 2010 Olympic Curling games. Hillcrest has an ice rink, library, large indoor & outdoor swimming pool, and outdoor playground. If you're feeling hungry while there, check out the Blue Parrot Café, which serves up coffee, tea and an assortment of meals & delicious baking. Perfect for the whole family!

We're also located close to BC Women's Hospital, BC's Children's Hospital, and Vancouver General Hospital - all within walking distance or less than a 5 minute drive.

During your stay take in the famous Queen Elizabeth Park, a short 5 minute walk. This 52-hectare park is a major attraction for locals and tourists alike, drawing in people from around the world to visit the spectacular views of the park, the city, and the North Shore mountains. Walk through the landscaped quarry garden, view the stunning water fountains, enjoy a picnic on the grass or experience the Bloedel Conservatory. You can also enjoy  recreational activities such as tennis, lawn bowling and pitch & putt golf. The park is also the perfect setting for fine dining at Seasons in the Park Restaurant, which overlooks the city,

Also not to be missed is Vancouver’s historic Nat Bailey Stadium, home of the Vancouver Canadians minor league baseball team - the farm club for the Toronto Blue Jays. Enjoy baseball's finest from June to September. Canadians Baseball at Nat Bailey Stadium is a Vancouver tradition.

From November to April take in the Nat Bailey farmers market each Saturday from 10:00am-2:00pm. Each week you can look forward to finding locally grown vegetables and fruit, meat and seafood from local ranchers and fishermen, artisan cheese and bread, herbs and seasonal nursery items, baked goods, prepared foods and artisanal craft.

Getting Around

Our home is just a 4 block walk to King Edward Skytrain Station, on the Canada Line which comes from YVR Airport (about 15 minutes), down Cambie, and all the way to Vancouver’s downtown (about a 6-7 minute ride) where the Vancouver Convention Centre and touristy Gastown are located on the last 'Waterfront' stop. You may not even need a rental car for your stay because of our convenient location. Vancouver has a fabulous transit system too.

Guest Access

The front and back doors have digital locks, so no keys are required to pick up, drop off, or share with fellow travelers. Just enter a 4-digit code we'll provide to you to unlock and lock the door. Our guests love this flexibility.

Come and go as you please and enjoy full privacy. You have the coach house all to yourself. We do ask all our guests to be respectful of the other people that share the property (there is another main home at the front of the property).

If you have any issues or questions during your stay, we or our handyman can take care of any mishaps or problems.

Other Things to Note

You'll have your own parking spot, next to the coach house.

You'll share the backyard with anyone staying in the main home.

We do ask for passport information from guests booking long term from out of country.

Coach houses, also known as laneway homes, are a huge trend in Vancouver that increase housing options in our ever popular City. They are separate from the main home, located at the back of the property, off the lane, and have their own entrance and parking.

Lively and Convenient

We stayed at the laneway house for 32 days. It was by far the best place we have stayed thus far in Vancouver. It suited our needs and Suzanne, as always, was a great host. We would recommend anyone who is interested in looking for a lively and very convenient place to stay. But better book it fast as it is very popular. We had it booked almost 7 months ahead of our stay. For its price and location, it is incomparable~

Highly Recommend

We stayed here for 31 nights and it was absolutely wonderful. Communication with Suzanne was perfect from the beginning. She is kind, friendly, attentive and so very helpful with all that we needed. The place is clean, bright and very comfortable. The kitchen is fully-equipped. The location is central and convenient. It is an amazing place to stay, it exceeded our expectations and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We would highly recommend this place.
